Let’s Walk Bedminster was a Bristol Green Capital project with the aim of reclaiming our streets for pedestrians of all ages.
Funds were made available to community groups across Greater Bedminster to clear walkways, improve signage and to generally make walking in our neighbourhood a more attractive proposition. However, much remains to be done: bins on the streets and waste management generally are major problems, as is pavement parking - particularly for the elderly and less mobile, wheelchair and baby buggy users . Action Greater Bedminster has set up an Environment sub-group to work with agencies such as Bristol Waste, the local police team and the City Council to continue to rise to the challenge of making our streets accessible and attractive for pedestrians.
