CALLING BEMMIE DESIGNERS!

This summer, the Bedminster BID will release a new tote bag that will be available in your favourite Bemmie businesses. The tote will represent what it means to live, work and play in Bedminster. We’re looking for local designers to make their mark on this new tote and create a design that shows Bedminster’s passion, community spirit and independence.

The winning design will appear on at least 2000 tote bags, distributed around the area and will help Bedminster become more sustainable in our bid to reduce the usage of plastic bags for shopping in the area!

The Brief:

Design a logo to be printed on the Bedminster BID’s tote bags that exemplifies Bedminster’s local, independent, community spirit.

Design must haves:

  • Be related to Bedminster, showcasing its original Bristol spirit

  • Help the tote to be a must have item for shoppers in Bedminster

  • 3 colours only

  • 280mm x 260mm

Timeline:

9 June: Deadline for submissions

11 June: Short List of finalists announced via social media

13 June: Winner announced!  

Money Talks:

The successful artist will receive a £300 payment, once the design is submitted, the Bedminster BID will cover the cost of printing and distribution of the tote bags. The artist will be profiled on the BID website and social media channels, with the tote being featured on at least 2000 bags in the area.

Ready to Enter?

Submit a high res file of your design to bedminster@weareplaster.com by 11.59pm Sunday 9 June 2019, with any accompanying rationale or background on yourself and your inspiration.


The small print:

  1. Contest is only open to residents of the United Kingdom who are at least 18 years old on the date that they submit the entry.

  2. Entries that have been completed by a third party, are illegible or are plagiarised will not be considered.

  3. By submitting your entry and any accompanying material, you agree that, in the event that you are the winner of the competition, you waive all intellectual property rights with full title guarantee to your entry over to the Bedminster BID.

  4. The Bedminster BID will process information about you in accordance to current GDPR standards. Once the winner is decided on all information will be destroyed and none will be passed on to any third party organisations.

  5. If you are a short-listed finalist or the winner, you agree that the Bedminster BID may use your name in all announcements in relation to this design contest.

  6. Short listed finalists  will be selected by the members of the Bedminster BID board, with the winner selected by online and social media votes in the BID social media channels.
